According to Thursday’s announcement, Metallica will headline the 2020 editions of Marston, NC’s Epicenter (May 1st-3rd), Daytona Beach, FL’s Welcome To Rockville (May 8th-10th), Columbus, OH’s Sonic Temple Festival (May 15th-17th); Louisville, KY’s Louder Than Life (September 18th-20th); and Sacramento, CA’s Aftershock (October 9th-11th) before the year comes to an end.

Each festival appearance will see the band offer up two nights of performances with different setlists each night, making for 10 unique festival sets in total. All five events are independently produced and promoted by Danny Wimmer Presents.

“Metallica isn’t just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it’s an event. It’s an experience. That’s the same standard we’ve set for every DWP festival,” DWP founder Danny Wimmer said in a statement to go with Thursday’s major festival announcement. “Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument, or first started a band, because of Metallica?”
