Metallica has announced the forthcoming launch of the band’s own subscription-based vinyl club. The veteran thrash-metal group took to its social media pages on Wednesday to share news of the first-ever “Metallica Vinyl Club,” which will offer subscribers with a mix of unique releases and more throughout the rest of the year.

“It’s been super exciting to see the resurgence of vinyl and how much enjoyment we all get collecting, exploring and connecting with other fans mining for lost treasures,” the band said with Wednesday’s announcement. “Those of us who love the look, feel and sonic warmth of vinyl are sorta in our little exclusive club, so with that in mind, we thought it would be fun to start adding to our collections on a regular basis.”

2020 membership runs at a manageable $49.99 one-time fee, and includes four vinyl releases comprised of rare cuts, demo recordings, rough mixes, and live rarities–each coming with a digital download. The subscription package will also feature a 33 rpm (small hole) 7” vinyl, a personalized membership card, and exclusive items like stickers, guitar picks, or even posters. Members will have the option to receive the four releases in one large package or have all the items arrive spread out throughout the year.

Fans have until March 31st to enroll in the band’s 2020 subscription package.

News of the forthcoming vinyl membership comes just weeks after the band canceled two of their upcoming festival appearances at Sonic Temple (May 15th-17th) and Louder Than Life (September 18th-20th) as singer/guitarist James Hetfield continues to focus on maintaining his sobriety. The band has kept a relentless international touring schedule over the last three years following the release of Hardwired… to Self-Destruct in November 2016.
