Over the summer, the Michael Jackson estate announced their partnership with Broadway production company Columbia Live Stage, to develop a new musical inspired by the iconic pop star’s life and music. Today, the estate announced that the musical, dubbed Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, will premiere at Chicago, IL’s James M. Nederlander Theatre beginning on October 29th and running through December 1st, before transferring to its more permanent home on Broadway in 2020.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage will write the book for the production, and Tony-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon will direct and choreograph the show. The musical’s score will comprise hits from across Jackson’s illustrious career.

While the planned musical will mark the first Broadway venture for the Jackson estate, it won’t be the entity’s first foray into the theater. The estate has already backed two Cirque du Soleil shows—Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour and Michael Jackson: One.

Jackson, one of the best-selling artists in the history of music, died in 2009 at the age of 50. In 2015, his 1983 album Thriller became the first LP to sell more than 30 million copies in the United States, proving that his popularity continues to endure long after his passing.
