New Orleans based management company, SimplePlay, and local favorite band Sweet Crude are teaming up to give New Orleans a one of a kind Halloween celebration. Transforming the Mid City venue Studio 3 into a spooky masquerade party filled with all different genres of music, live painting, spoken word, and comedy, Mid City Masquerade should be on your radar for Saturday, October 24th. (More info here)

Taking over the main stage is Lost Bayou Ramblers, Sweet Crude, Young Buffalo, Tank and The Bangas, and Blind Texas Marlin. Each band is incredibly unique and heavily inspired by New Orleans culture incorporating Cajun, funk, rock, and R&B styles. To top off the eclectic line up, DJ Doug Funnie will be spinning some swamp-funk-jazz-blues-brass-sweaty-booty-shaking dance music.

Elizabeth McBride at The September Dust Bowl

On the second stage is The Dust Bowl, an interactive art experience. Held monthly at The Den at The Howlin’ Wolf, The Dust Bowl serves as an open mic, openly inspired by the nature of dust–yes, dust–in that creativity should be free and expressive to any artist of any medium. There will be an open canvas for attendees to paint on and performances by singer-songwriter Elizabeth McBride, comedian Kamari Stevens, a special acoustic set by 35 PSI, and spoken word artist Baron Amato.

Be sure to bring your paintbrushes and masquerade attire for the inaugural Mid City Masquerade! Tickets and more information can be found on the official website.
