Guster welcomed Phish bassist Mike Gordon to sit in at Midway Lawn at Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction, VT on Saturday. Gordon joined the band on the song “Ruby Falls”, off their 2006 release Ganging Up On The Sun, and stuck around for a cover of Pixies‘ “Here Comes Your Man”, played by the band for the first time in over 20 years, per Setlist.fm stats.

Saturday’s sit-in was the first time Guster collaborated with a member of Phish onstage, however, Phish keyboardist Page McConnell played on the band’s 1999 breakthrough album Lost and gone Forever and members of the two groups have shared the stage numerous times at different jam sessions and benefit shows, especially Gordon, Mcconnell, and Guster frontman Ryan Miller, who are all based in Vermont.

Guster is in the midst of a tour supporting The Wood Brothers, which will continue tomorrow night with a show at Rose Music Center at The Heights in Huber Heights, OH. They also have a three-day festival of their own on the horizon, On The Ocean, which will take place at three different venues over three days in Maine this August.
