On Sunday, moe. offered up a single-set performance at Arrington, VA’s LOCKN’.

While onstage, bassist Rob Derhak mentioned that the show marked his debut at the annual music festival, as he had been diagnosed with cancer prior to moe.’s 2017 appearance. Bassist Phil Lesh took over Rob’s bass duties for a special phil.moe set that year.

Moe. opened up their 2019 LOCKN’ set with a roaring “Plane Crash” before smoothly coasting into “Spine Of A Dog”. Derhak and drummer Vinnie Amico laid down the opening groove for “Buster”, which ended up being a fakeout as the band charged forward into “Opium”. As the band worked through “Opium”, guitarist Marcus King emerged onstage to contribute a series of explosive electric guitar solos.

Moving back into their five-piece configuration, moe. moved forward with their newer tune “Skitchin’ Buffalo”, which was followed up by a pairing of Pink Floyd’s “Fearless” into “Downward Facing Dog”. Following the fakeout earlier in the set, the quintet closed out their LOCKN’ performance with the previously hinted-at “Buster”.
