Ever wanted to be in moe.? Well, now fans have the chance to join the band through moe.’s new campaign with the American Cancer Society. moe.rons can donate to the band’s “Real Men Wear Pink” fundraising effort to score a variety of unique opportunities from signed merch and virtual hangs to joining the band for a day.

The American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign encourages artists, community leaders, and other figures to promote breast cancer awareness in the month of October. moe. has been a longtime supporter of the campaign, with the band including pink-themed songs into setlists in years past. The band also has a personal connection to the American Cancer Society, as bassist Rob Derhak fought and won his battle with oropharyngeal cancer in 2017.

“I was fortunate to have a huge team of people rooting for me and giving me support,” Derhak said. “The American Cancer Society offered help with so many avenues that I didn’t know existed which made me realize how important the organization is. They offer support for people who may not have that team in their corner.”

This latest campaign from the Buffalo jam band offers a host of experiences for a wide range of donation options. Fans can get a private cooking lesson from drummer and resident chef Vinnie Amico ($100) or play a round of golf with percussionist Jim Loughlin ($250). Vinnie, guitarist Al Schnier, and touring guitarist Michael “Suke” Cerulo are also offering one-hour private lessons on their respective instruments ($75, $100, and $100 respectively), and Jim, Rob, and Al are all pledging to write custom songs ($500).

moe. is also putting up an ultimate fan package that includes “2 tickets to moe. show of choice, attend soundcheck, sit in on setlist meeting, signed show poster, photo op w/band, VIP seating, merch package, signed setlist” ($1000). Fans can also pledge $250 for a signed merch package that includes an autographed show poster and record.

The holy grail, however, allows one lucky fan to be in moe. for a day. For a $10,000 donation to the American Cancer Society, that person will get to hang with the band for its set up, soundcheck, and pre-show meal, collaborate with the band on the night’s setlist, and ultimately sit in with moe. during the show. The top prize also includes a signed show poster, other memorabilia, and professional photos with the band onstage and off. A donation of any size automatically enters the contributor into a drawing for VIP tickets to Summer Camp Music Festival 2023.

“Cancer impacts all of us – friends, family, co-workers, neighbors – all of us,” Schnier said. “Being married to someone who works directly for ACS has only made me more acutely aware of just how important the fundraising is – not only directly helping those battling cancer, but also in funding the research to make it treatable and not fatal.”

Check out the moe. “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign for a full list of donation opportunities. The band is currently prepping for a three-night run at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO (11/4–6). As founding guitarist Chuck Garvey continues to recover from a stroke suffered last November, moe. is joined on the road by Suke Cerulo (Schleigho) and keyboardist Nate Wilson (Percy Hill). Tickets and livestream packages are available on the band’s website.
