Beloved NYC-based trio Moon Hooch has announced plans to release their third-ever studio album. Titled Red Sky, the new release will hit the shelves on June 10th, powered by the band’s creative approach to dance music. Somehow, with two saxophones and a drummer, Moon Hooch is able to turn any performance into an electronic-feeling dance party, and their extensive musical backgrounds never fail to entertain those in attendance.

From a band that got their start busking in the NYC subway, this new LP is sure to capture the band’s development and musical refinement. Saxophonist Wenzl McGowen spoke about the new release in a statement, saying, “What we discovered playing in the subway is that the more focus and the more energy you put into the music, and the more you listen to everything around you and integrate everything around you into your expression, the more the music becomes this captivating force for people.”

By bringing in Moog synths and EWIs (electronic wind instruments), Moon Hooch has been able to diversify their approach while staying true to their overall sound. We can’t wait to hear Red Sky on June 10th!
