Detroit, MI will once again host its acclaimed Movement Festival in 2022 after two pandemic-induced years off. On Wednesday, festival organizers released the phase one lineup which will see Jeff MillsAdam BeyerRichie Hawtin, and more head to Hart Plaza on May 28th–30th.

Continuously booking some of the top techno and house artists in the world, Movement Festival’s initial lineup also includes the likes of Anfisa LetyagoANNABlawanThe Blessed MadonnaCarl CraigClaude VonStrokeDJ MinxDramaEris Drew B2B Octo OctaGoldie B2B LTJ BukemJames MurphyLouie VegaMaceo PlexNatasha DiggsNina KravizPaula Temple, and Seth Troxler.

Event producer Paxhau has helped the festival remain a Detroit staple for over 20 years, dating back to 2000. Located in the birthplace of techno and a short distance from the cradle of house music in Chicago, IL, Movement draws a worldwide audience with its high-quality production and lauded lineup curation.

“Of all the places I’ve traveled to and audiences I’ve played music for, Detroit is still the city that remains the barometer of advanced creative knowledge and technique,” Mills, a pioneer of Detroit techno music, told Billboard. “It’s special because of what the long list of native Detroit musicians that have contributed to the world of music. It’s a place that is infamous for proposing new ways and ideas as well as a unique and common viewpoint on the future of music. The city taught me to never fear what lies beyond, but embrace it as a means to advance the music art form.”
