MSNBC news anchor Katy Tur once again closed out the year by making a plethora of Phish references before signing off air one last time in 2019.

As her final shift of 2019 came to a close, Tur made references to “Stash”, “Simple”, “Say It To Me S.A.N.T.O.S”, and many more songs from her favorite Vermont jam band before bidding viewers a fond farewell and Happy New Year. She then gave a friendly “see you soon” to all of her fellow fans who would be at Madison Square Garden later on that evening to ring in the New Year with her. However, Tur let everyone in on the joke as she also referenced the last year in politics with talk of “quid pro quo” and “whistleblowers and Be-Bophones” all while “Free” played triumphantly in the background.

Much like last year, Tur didn’t actually mention Phish by name. To the average viewer, this 90-second mashup of references must have sounded like cryptic poetry or just an anchor trying to run down the clock on her last shift before New Year’s Eve. Rest assured, we were all in on the joke, Katy.

Happy New Year’s to all members of Phish-fandom. Watch Katy Tur geek out over her favorite band below.
