British folk-rockers Mumford & Sons traveled to the Big Easy earlier this month for a headlining slot on the final day of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. While they traveled from England to perform at the Fair Grounds, Marcus Mumford and company clearly understood the local assignment: During their encore, the band welcomed two other Jazz Fest headlining artists from New Orleans—Trombone Shorty (trombone) and Jon Batiste (melodica)—in addition to secret-weapon guitarist Celisse to contribute to an explosive version of the NOLA-focused traditional folk song, “House of the Rising Sun”.
Check out the new pro-shot video of Mumford & Sons’ collaborative rendition of “House of the Rising Sun” from New Orleans Jazz Fest 2023’s final day below. The video was directed by Jack Banks, recorded by Chris Pollard, mixed by Christi van der Colff, and mastered by Tim Lengfeld.
