The 2019 Music Midtown festival will return to Atlanta’s Piedmont Park on September 14th and 15th this fall, and will provide attendees with a lineup of performers that includes Vampire Weekend, Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, and Panic! At The Disco.
The two-day festival, which has been taking place in the Georgia city since 1994, has recruited a lineup of mostly pop and indie-rock performers for its 2019 edition. More artists featured on the event’s 2019 lineup include Lizzo, Lord Huron, Tash Sultana, Kali Uchis, Walk The Moon, Banks, Jaden Smith, Reignwolf, Band of Skulls, and Kevin Garrett just to name a few. Some of the artists set to perform at the 2019 event will be doing so in front of their hometown fans, including rap artists Lil Yachty and 6lack, as well as Faye Webster and The Coathangers.
The event began running back in 1994 after being launched by Alex Cooley, Peter Conlon, and Alex Hoffman, with the intention of creating a music experience for Atlanta similar to what Jazz Fest does for the community of New Orleans. The event was put on hold for a few years beginning in 2005, but was re-launched in 2011 and has been held at the city’s Piedmont Park every year since.
“I’m very excited for Music Midtown this year,” Conlon said in a statement to go with Tuesday’s lineup announcement. “When Alex Cooley and I started the festival twenty-five years ago, our goal was to present a diverse group of the biggest names and rising stars in music. Music Midtown 2019 continues that tradition. We’re really looking forward to seeing Atlanta show up for another amazing weekend in Piedmont Park.”
