Neil Young will head back out on tour early next year with a new batch of solo U.S. tour dates announced on Wednesday evening. The rock guitarist and singer-songwriter will hit the road for five performances throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota from January 23rd through January 29th. Young also announced on Thursday that he’ll play another co-headlining gig alongside Bob Dylan at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny, Ireland on July 14th next summer, just two days after his scheduled performance in London’s Hyde Park on July 12th.

Young will play two shows in Wisconsin to start out his short winter tour, beginning with Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater on January 23rd and Madison’s Overture Center For The Arts the following evening on January 24th. He’ll then head west to Minneapolis for a trio of shows scheduled at Pantages Theatre on January 26th, the Orpheum Theatre on January 28th, and the State Theatre on January 29th.

Young has found himself in the news quite often over the past few weeks, and not for the reasons he would have hoped. The “Heart of Gold” singer denounced his involvement with the British Summer Time concert series following the show’s initial announcement last month as long as Barclays Bank remained the active presenting sponsors. The guitarist/self-avowed environmental activist angrily revealed that the show was announced before he gave the green light, and made it clear that he would never be part of an event that was sponsored by a bank which finances the fossil fuel industry.

Young has since declared that he and Dylan will play their own show in the park without any sponsor at all, to which British Summer Time responded, “Neil Young has made the decision to move away from the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time concert series. Neil Young and Bob Dylan will play a stand-alone concert in Hyde Park on the same date, 12th July. All tickets will remain valid. The Barclaycard presents British Summer Time concert series remains unaffected and will continue as normal.”

Pre-sale tickets for the newly-announced U.S. shows are now available to purchase for Neil Young Archives subscribers here. Artist presale for the Ireland concert in July will begin on December 14th and continue until December 16th.
