On the night of October 10, 2012 Nelly’s tour bus was pulled over while crossing the border in Sierra Blanca, the same checkpoint where Fiona Apple was arrested for possession of hashish a few weeks ago in Texas. Per TMZ, 0.64 ounces of heroin, ten pounds of marijuana and a loaded .45-caliber pistol were all found in the rapper’s bus. One of border patrol’s police dogs had detected the drugs, initiating the search and seizure according to the police.
Aside from Nelly there were six other passengers on the bus, one of which took responsibility for all of the contraband. Passenger Brian Keith Jones was then arrested and Nelly, as well as the others, set free. Nelly has not spoken on the incident since. The moral of the story is, don’t go and take a ride wit’ Nelly unless you plan on getting busted.
