New documentaries on ’80s pop icons New Order and Duran Duran will air back-to-back on Showtime on December 27th, the network announced Tuesday.

New Order: Decades, will be part documentary and part concert film, chronicling the band in preparation for another staging of their 2017 collaboration concert So It Goes with artist Liam Gillick, which featured a 12-piece synth orchestra. Showtime has shared a preview for the movie that provides a taste of the way that both archival and new interview footage will be weaved together with the backstage planning of staging a massive concert production, without making it feel like a relic of the past.

On the other hand, Duran Duran: There’s Something You Should Know will be much more of a nostalgic dive through the past, featuring never-before-seen archival footage as well as new interviews with original band members Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Roger Taylor, and Nick Rhodes. There’s Something You Should Know shows a different approach to vintage fame than Decades. New Order appears to be trying to maintain—or possibly even re-prove—their relevance in the modern world, whereas Duran Duran is comfortable—and even happy—looking back on their legacy from decades ago and calling it a day.

New Order will perform a stripped-down version of So It Goes as part of their four-night residency at the Fillmore Miami Beach in Miami next January. The performance will differ greatly from the version shown in the upcoming documentary and the 2017 live album, ∑(No,12k,Lg,17Mif) New Order + Liam Gillick: So it goes… (Live at MIF), in that it will not feature Gillick’s art installation or a synth orchestra. Tickets for that four-night run are available here.

Duran Duran has two shows on their calendar—one in St. Anne’s Park in Dublin, Ireland, and the other at the Isle of Wight festival in the U.K. Tickets and information are available here.
