WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story hits the Roku Channel on November 4th, and in anticipation, audiences got a new trailer for the biopic on Monday. The nearly three-minute preview gives viewers a more in-depth look at Daniel Radcliffe‘s portrayal of the world’s most famous polka-playing parody artist.

In true style, WEIRD itself appears to be a parody as it shows “Weird” Al Yankovic‘s fictional struggles with drugs and alcohol as well as a love affair with Madonna. Yankovic was brought up in a devoutly Christian household and has famously avoided the temptations of mind-altering substances. While Yankovic and Madonna never reportedly shared a bed, the pop superstar is famously the only person whose song idea Yankovic actually accepted when a friend of Weird Al’s manager passed along to him Madonna’s suggestion for “Like A Surgeon”. As Consequence points out, the exaggerated nature of the upcoming film bears striking resemblance to a fake trailer by Funny Or Die for a film also called WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story that came out in 2010.

In addition to Radcliffe, Weird stars Rainn Wilson (The Office) as wacky radio DJ Dr. Demento who first discovered Yankovic. The cast also hosts Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, Julianne Nicholson and Toby Huss as Al’s parents, Quinta Brunson as Oprah Winfrey, and more. The trailer for Weird also dramatizes the inspiration behind one of Yankovic’s early hits, “My Bologna”.

On the heels of the anticipated biopic, a new Weird Al photobook, Lights, Camera, Accordion!, will also hit shelves in November featuring over 300 pictures captured over four decades by Yankovic’s drummer Jon “Bermuda” Schwartz.
