The long-running Newport Jazz Festival has shared its daily lineups for 2022, set to return to Newport, RI’s Fort Adams State Park on July 29th–31st. Organizers have also made a number of additions to the lineup including Dan Wilson, Takuya Kuroda, Melissa Aldana, Jazz Is Dead Presents, and Sullivan Fortner.
The festival will kick off on Friday, July 29th with performances from Norah Jones, McBride’s Newport Jawn, Terence Blanchard, BADBADNOTGOOD, Lettuce, Nate Smith + Kinfolk, Benevento/Russo Duo (acoustic), Nicholas Payton Trio, Shabaka Hutchins, The Baylor Project, and more. Acclaimed bassist and Newport Jazz artistic director Christian McBride will once again host a special, improvisational Newport “Jawn” featuring Makaya McCraven, Chris Potter, Vijay Iyer, Brandee Younger, and Mike Stern.

On Saturday, Newport Jazz will host sets from The Fearless Flyers, Esperanza Spalding, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Cory Wong, Sons of Kemet, Maria Schneider Orchestra, Makaya McCraven, Yussef Dayes, and more. Finally, Newport Jazz will wrap on Sunday with a celebration of late festival founder George Wein, Angelique Kidjo’s Remain In Light, PJ Morton, The Ron Carter Quartet, Nubya Garcia, Jazz Is Dead Presents, Jason Moran & The Bandwagon, Mononeon, The Soul Rebels, Melissa Aldana, The Nth Power, and more.
Three-day, two-day, single-day, and student tickets for Newport Jazz Festival are on sale now. No ticket is required for children under ten. Two children are allowed free admission per ticketed adult. All children ten and over require a student general admission ticket. All tickets are available via DICE, and can be purchased here.
