Lettuce keyboardist/vocalist Nigel Hall is back with another soulful new live single, “When I Die (Live)”.

Recorded at The Camel in Richmond, VA on November 27th, 2021, “When I Die (Live)” is the third and final stand-alone single captured that night, following previous live releases “Wake Me” and “Don’t Change For Me”. Like the previously released tracks, it features members of Butcher Brown including guitarist Morgan Burrs, keyboardist Devonne “DJ” Harrison, bassist Andrew Randazzo, drummer Corey Fonville, and multi-instrumentalist Marcus “Tennishu” Tenney. “When I Die” was initially featured on Hall’s 2021 album Spiritual along with “Wake Me”. “Don’t Change For Me” comes from 2015’s Ladies & Gentlemen… Nigel Hall.

Like “Wake Me (Live)” and “Don’t Change Me (Live)”, “When I Die (Live)” maintains a driving rhythm, yet it leans away from funk and more toward soul and R&B. Hall’s powerful vocals take center stage as he belts out empowering lyrics about wanting to inspire others by being a better person: “I wanna be a better man, / For my children, for my lady, all my friends, and baby even a baby, / … / I just wanna be better.”
