Due to the current state of the live entertainment industry and the lack of any brotherly bond between Noel and Liam Gallagher, music fans shouldn’t expect to see or hear an Oasis reunion of any kind in the foreseeable future. That’s not to say fans of the famous rock band can’t be treated to surprise gifts from the Gallaghers every so often, which is just what Noel has provided by way of a newly-resurfaced demo recording of an unreleased Oasis tune entitled, “Don’t Stop…”

In a post shared to his Twitter account early Wednesday morning, Gallagher informed fans he recently stumbled across an old demo recording of “Don’t Stop…” with all of his newfound free time in quarantine. The demo is the only known recording of the unreleased song aside from a bootleg version of Oasis performing “Don’t Stop…” during a soundcheck in Hong Kong circa 2009.

“Like the rest of the world I’ve had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I’d FINALLY look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked CD’s I’ve got lying around in boxes at home,” Gallagher mentioned via his Twitter. “As fate would have it I stumbled across an old demo which I thought had been lost forever … I’m not sure whether the soundcheck version pre dates the demo as there’s no date on the CD.”

The five-minute demo hears Noel belt out lyrics for the relaxed rock ballad while accompanied by the strumming of his acoustic guitar and some subtle electric notation. It’s obviously unclear what a final version of the song would have sounded like had Oasis prepared it for an official release, but “Don’t Stop…” stays pretty close to the band’s melody-focused, trademark sound for which the famous rock group was known.
