Swedish death metal outfit Opeth will join forces with the Georgia-bred Mastodon for a North American co-headlining tour this spring. The two groups will traverse the U.S. and Canada starting on April 21st at Place Bell in Montreal, QC.
Moving out of Quebec, the tour will head to Toronto, ON (4/22) before heading stateside and making its way through The Agora in Cleveland, OH (4/23); Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA (4/24); The Met in Philadelphia, PA (4/26); Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL (4/28); Masonic Temple in Detroit, MI (4/29); The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, WI (4/30); and The Myth in St. Paul, MN (5/1).
From there, Opeth and Mastadon will take their tour through the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan (5/3), Alberta (5/4, 5/5), and British Columbia (5/7). As the string of 2022 North American shows nears its end, the groups will work their way through Paramount Theater in Seattle, WA (5/8); Keller Auditorium in Portland, OR (5/9); and Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, CA (5/11).
“We’re excited to come back to North America for the second leg of shows together with our ‘brothers from other mothers’ in Mastodon. And… hello, Canada! It’s been too long, we know!” says Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt.
“We’ll soon dust off the ole guitars etc. and get in shape for this run. The last tour was quite splendid; the only downside being the restrictions. We don’t know for sure how it’s going to pan out this time around, but we’re hoping for a bit more freedom to move around. Crossing fingers here. See you semi-soon!”
Blabbermouth and Knotfest presales will run from Tuesday, February 8th, at 10 a.m. ET through Thursday, February 10th, at 10 p.m. local. A general on-sale will then begin this Friday, February 11th, at 10 a.m. local. Head here for tickets and more information.
