Devotchka, Ron Artis II, Marchfourth, Moonalice, Russ Liquid, and High Step Society will also be among the event’s musical performers.
Founded in 1969 as a benefit for an alternative school, Oregon Country Fair has grown into an institution of Northwest alternative culture. Each year, the festival hosts a three-day celebration of the arts and community in the forested foothills of the Oregon Coast Range. With more than 300 vendors, 80 food booths, and 19 stages, the Fair showcases local artisans and performers of all genres, from vaudeville and aerial acts to poetry slams and jamming bands, and while onsite camping is not available to the public, Oregonians know the coveted OCF overnight pass grants access to the most legendary, albeit exclusive part of the Fair. OCF also famously hosted the Grateful Dead’s 1972 benefit concert for Springfield Creamery that was canonized with the release of the film/album Sunshine Daydream.
Additional performers to catch at this year’s Oregon Country Fair include Matt Butler‘s (Everyone Orchestra) all improv trio Threedom, Portland funk supergroup Outer Orbit, and Moorea Masa And The Mood, led by funk and soul singer Moorea Masa (Swatkins).
