L.A. retro-soul outfit Orgone will be gracing Williamsburg’s Brooklyn Bowl with their presence on Saturday, June 30th. By definition, Orgone is “A universal life force, a cosmic unit of energy, the creative force in nature”. And that is exactly what their infectious brand of soulful, jazzy funk is – a cosmic unit of energy; it’s just something that needs to be seen live. Their sound is truly organic and touches upon so many genres of music, while being a sound that is completely their own. The last two years have seen the band touring as heavily as any other band out there. And after playing an insane 288 shows in 2011, the band has no intentions on letting up anytime soon, touring in support of their yet-to-be-named upcoming fifth studio album.

What started out as a five-piece instrumental band in the late nineties, Orgone eventually added a horn section, and brought in vocal powerhouse Niki J. Crawford to round out the present lineup. One of the most sought after backing bands in the industry, Orgone and its members have played in the studio with a who’s-who list of musicians from Cee Lo Green to Alicia Keys, Estelle to Keb Mo, and Pharaohe Monch to Booker T Jones, just to name a few. As a touring outfit, they have shared the stage with The Roots, Al Green, Thievery Corporation, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Galactic, and Ozomatli, all while playing some of the biggest festivals in the country (Bonnaroo, New Orleans JazzFest, High Sierra, SXSW, Jam Cruise, All Good).

If you are looking to shake your moneymaker, and get funk’d up, then you should definitely be at Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, June 30th; we certainly will be.
