Panorama is set to return to New York City’s Randall’s Island for its third consecutive year from July 27th to 29th. The large-scale festival, presented by Goldenvoice, features tons of star power for fans to enjoy. The summer-in-the-city festival will host The Weeknd, Janet Jackson, and The Killers as top-line headliners, followed by Migos, Father John Misty, The War On Drugs, Dua Lipa, SZA, Gucci Mane, St. Vincent, The xx, Odesza, David Byrne, Fleet Foxes, and so many more. Furthermore, Panorama has made many fans proud by taking action to follow through on popular demand with a female-heavy festival lineup—particularly on Saturday, July 28th, when three of the four headlining acts are women (Janet Jackson, SZA, and St. Vincent).

In addition to its diverse lineup, Panorama sets itself apart with its commitment to curating not just the artist roster, but the entire attendee experience, creating an immersive adventure that mirrors the multi-faceted character of its host city. Just like New York City at large, Panorama offers a wide variety of things to amuse and entertain you within the shores of Randall’s Island as you look out over the city skyline in the background.

Of course, there’s the music itself, the obvious focal point of the festivities. However, Panorama ratchets up the spectacle with extensive production value in true NYC style, featuring a massive screen behind the main stage, which artists like Kendrick LamarNine Inch NailsA Tribe Called QuestArcade Fire and more have used to fantastic effect in the festival’s first two years.

Then there’s the nightlife aspect of Panorama’s music and technology-driven city-within-a-city: The Point, a shady, open-air nightclub on the grounds where those in a more social mood can take a break from the late-July sun and have a dance before heading back out to one of the performance stages. But the true jewel in the Panorama crown is The Lab, an interactive experience that combines technology, artistry, and design specifically engineered to dazzle each of your senses, with six interactive installations and a massive 360-degree virtual-reality dome theater. Created exclusively by New York City-based artists and curated by META, The Lab places experiential digital art at the heart of Panorama, playing to the city’s pervasive nature of curiosity, interconnectedness, and discovery.

The Lab is a spectacle entirely unique to Panorama, and that is certainly by design. As The Lab curator Justin Bolognino of META explained to Live For Live Music in an interview ahead of the inaugural Panorama:

This isn’t just different for the sake of different, but telling a colloquial story that’s relative to the region that the festival is being built in. Coachella can only exist in the California desert, period. And Panorama could only exist in New York City, and that’s the idea, that they’re reflective of each other. It’s not just a stage with musicians performing on it like some of the other events that happen in New York on this scale. There’s a story, there’s a thread, we’re pulling together a community based around a narrative, and that narrative is: creative technology is amazing, and it’s time to respect that, and make it a quintessential part of the festival experience.

Whichever thread may be pulling you toward Randall’s Island on July 27th through 29th, you’d be wise to trust the instinct. Whether it’s the star-studded music lineup, the community of people seeking a New York adventure, or the mind-blowing experiential technology, Panorama has something for all of the Big Apple’s adventure-seekers. Grab your tickets here, and take a big bite. You won’t be sorry.
