Earlier this summerPaul McCartney linked up with late-night TV personality James Corden for a memorable installation of his ongoing “Carpool Karaoke” segment. In the clip, Sir Paul took The Late Late Show host on a tour his native Liverpool, which included a visit to his teenage home, a stop at the famed Penny Lane, and a surprise performance at a local pub, in addition to plenty of Corden’s trademark self-deprecating humor.

The extra-lengthy 23-minute cut of the former Beatle‘s feel-good “Carpool Karaoke” session quickly went viral, amassing more than 100-million views across social platforms. The response to the video has been so overwhelming that CBS has announced a new one-hour prime-time special, Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool, set to air on Monday, August 20th, at 8 pm ET. The new special will feature never-before-seen footage from Corden and McCartney’s metaphorical trip down memory lane—and of course, their very real trip down Penny Lane.

Get excited for the extended Paul McCartney “Carpool Karaoke” special by watching the original clip below. If you’ve already seen it, you know it’s worth at least a handful of replays. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for a treat—it’s one of the best things we’ve watched in some time.

The new special comes as Paul McCartney begins to prime the engines for a big year ahead. In June, Sir Paul announced his newest solo LP, Egypt Station, set to be released on September 7th via Capitol Records. He also released a pair of singles from the upcoming album, “I Don’t Know” and “Come To Me”. Last month, McCartney announced a four-night Canadian run this September, the first dates on his new ‘Freshen Up’ Tour. In the ensuing weeks, McCartney has announced several more Freshen Up dates, including stops in Poland, Austria, England, and Scotland in December. While the Canadian dates mark the only announced North American shows as of now, the timing of the confirmed concerts (Canada in the fall, Europe in the winter), seem to indicate that McCartney has carved out some time for a trek through the States this fall. For more information on Paul McCartney’s new album, Egypt Station, or to keep an out for updates on his ‘Freshen Up’ Tour, head over to his website.
