Pearl Jam has released a cautionary music video for “Retrograde” featuring climate activist Greta Thunberg. “Retrograde” appears on Pearl Jam’s eleventh studio album, Gigaton, which was released in March via Monkeywrench/Republic Records.

The stylized, animated video mirrors the song’s warnings about the ever-looming threat of climate change and the actions we need to take to combat its catastrophic effects on the planet.

The “Retrograde” video follows a man who visits a strip mall psychic and is shown a dystopian, disaster-filled world when he peers into the crystal ball. It’s not until late in the video that the frame pans upward to reveal that this fortune-teller is, in fact, Greta Thunberg. The clip serves as a transparent plea to take the dangers of climate change seriously, as the apocalyptic “future” you see in the video is the future that Thunberg has been famously active in trying to prevent.

As Eddie Vedder sings about the dire predictions, “It’s gonna take much more than ordinary love to lift us up.” Watch the new video for “Retrograde” by Pearl Jam featuring Greta Thunberg as a psychic below:
