Decorated impresario Peter Shapiro is teaming up with the estate of Jerry Garcia to bring a new venue and restaurant to Chicago, possibly as early as next year.

According to a report shared by EATER Chicago on Monday, the new Chicago outpost of Garcia’s—taking after the original Garcia’s attached to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY—will fill the current space at 1001 W. Washington Boulevard in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. The news was confirmed via a liquor license application after rumors and speculation had Deadheads buzzing about Shapiro’s latest venture with the world of the Grateful Dead. Shapiro is also the man behind the growing Brooklyn Bowl empire, The Capitol Theatre, LOCKN’, Relix, and more, and was the key player in organizing the Grateful Dead‘s 2015’s Fare Thee Well concerts, which took place just a few miles away at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

“We’re moving along,” Shapiro told Eater. “We’re very excited about how the plans are coming together … It’s just a large puzzle to put together with many, many pieces. I’m excited to complete the puzzle.”

Shapiro also revealed that like Brooklyn Bowl, Chicago’s Garcia’s be a venue where customers will be able to eat full meals in a restaurant setting. He’s also in the process of curating a wine list from vineyards near music venues where the Grateful Dead performed throughout their 30-year run. The venue will be managed by the current General Manager of The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, Tom Bailey.

While no official opening date has yet been confirmed, Peter Shapiro told Eater that Garcia’s Chicago could open in early 2020.
