Phil Lesh, legendary bassist for the Grateful Dead, brought his Terrapin Family Band to the Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park for back-to-back days of classic jams, guest stars, and good times at the Wanee Music Festival. Yesterday saw a spectacular blues closer to the first set as guitarist Marcus King shared the stage and his incredible voice and fretboard skills on epic renditions of “West L.A. Fadeaway” and “Samson & Delilah.” Fans danced and cheered in the fading sun as songs that have been etched into their souls were brought to life with new energy from the next generation of players including Midnight North‘s guitarist Grahame Lesh, who carries on the family tradition well.

The previous day on Friday, to close out his first set of the weekend, the Grateful Dead bassist and his crew invited out Neal Casal, a guitarist for Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Hard Working Americans, and Circles Around The Sun, who joined the band for renditions of “Minglewood Blues”, “Ramble On Rose”, “Mr. Charlie”, “The Music Never Stopped”, and “Scarlet Begonias”.

Wanee saw several remarkable moments we’ve brought you already, from Dumpstaphunk bringing the Red Hot Chili Peppers to life, Roosevelt Collier taking on the music of Jimi Hendrix, Chris Robinson and his Brotherhood, and many more to come from Widespread Panic, Karl Denson and more. While our videographer on the scene, Rex-A-Vision, finishes the dozens of videos yet to come, we have a tasty selection of clips from both days of Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Band to exclusively share with you, including “The Music Never Stopped“, “Mr. Charlie,” “Scarlet Begonias“, “Ramble On Rose“, “Bertha“, “Sweet Jane“, and “West L.A. Fadeaway”  > “Samson & Delilah“! You can click each hyperlinked song title to open the videos or check out the embedded highlights below! Enjoy!
