Phil Lesh To Lead “Summer Solstice Telstar” Night Of Improvisation

On Friday, June 22nd, Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads will honor the Summer Solstice with “Telstar” night, a tradition that’s been honored since the San Rafael, California’s inception in 2012. The Grate Room will play host to the “Summer Solstice Telstar”, a supersonic band that will feature Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, guitarists Scott Law and Ross James, keyboardist Holly Bowling, and drummer Alex Koford.

The Summer Solstice Telstar will “take the music wherever its meant to be,” according to the Terrapin Crossroads announcement. With psychedelic improvisation at the helm, this will be the perfect way to welcome the Summer Solstice. “Everything influences a Telstar’s direction, especially the audience,” the announcement continues, urging fans to “come be a part of the music.”
