Phish ‘Dinner and a Movie’ Ep. 10 – 12/29/18 – Madison Square Garden – Full Show

The meal portion of this week’s installment once again comes from bassist Mike Gordon. Just like his last contribution, week 10 sees a vegetarian option from Gordon, this time in the form of a ramen recipe from Gaku Ramen in Burlington, VT.

Tuesday’s tenth episode of Dinner and a Movie follows the 8/31/12 “F— You Face” show, the 7/27/14 Merriweather “Tweezerfest”, the 7/25/17’s Baker’s Dozen “Jam-Filled” nightMagnaball night two (8/22/15), last year’s first night at Mohegan Sun (7/19/19), the first night of the band’s 2016 Halloween run in Las Vegas (10/28/16), the final night of 2017’s Mexican destination event (1/15/17), the opening night of their 2018 Alpharetta run (8/3/18), and the summer 1997 United States tour opener (7/21/97).

This week’s dinner portion again sees Gordon taking a recipe from one of his favorite Burlington haunts. This concoction from Gaku Ramen is great “For the musician on the go, or, ahm, the musician on the stay-at-home, or for the anyone on the anywhere,” according to Gordon. With homemade stock and a medley of vegetables, Gordon’s contribution to Dinner and a Movie is a much more simplistic, and diet-friendly, option than, say, the Fishmans’ three-course meals from weeks four and eight.

For episode 10 of Dinner and a Movie, Phish has chosen the Afya Foundation as their non-profit beneficiary. As the announcement notes,

Afya’s primary mission is to improve global health by rescuing surplus medical supplies and delivering them to underserved health systems around the world. During the COVID-19 crisis, Afya has turned their focus and is delivering PPE to New York healthcare workers, with a special focus on healthcare systems supporting vulnerable populations.
