Ringing in 2013 at New York City’s newest venue, Stage 48, Dumpstaphunk and the Jennifer Hartswick Band have officially announced that they will be co-headlining the last of the Phish after-parties. Stage 48, located in Hell’s Kitchen, will be hosting the funky bash on December 31st, 2012. Besides its extremely close proximity to Madison Square Garden, Phish phans are going to love the show as it features trombonist Natalie Cressman and bassist Tony Hall, both of whom have collaborates with Trey Anastasio before.
Dumpstaphunk has promised a variety of collaborations, guest stars and a great deal of new material. The funky all stars are sure to play songs from their upcoming album Dirty Words, which has yet to have a release date. The up and coming Jennifer Hartswick is sure to blow audiences away just as much as the notorious Ivan Neville. Known for blasting her trumpet on Phish’s album Story of the Ghost as well as on tour with Trey Anastasio himself, Jennifer Hartswick will be headling the show as lead Trumpet and Vocals in her band. The soulful Jennifer Hartswick Band recently released their first album Ocean Floor in 2011, receiving great reviews all around. The Dumpstaphunk-Jennifer Hartswick Band combination is bound to leave audiences in a funky and soulful mood at the start of the new year.
The New Years Eve event marks the return of the Jennifer Hartswick Band for the first time since September’s Catskill Chill, and the return of Jennifer Hartswick herself since touring with Everyone Orchestra and Trey Anastasio Band this past fall. Dumpstaphunk continues their United States tour throughout the rest of 2012 so be sure to catch them soon.
