Last week, Phish opened up their 2019 summer tour with a two-night run at St. Louis, MO’s Chafeitz Arena, followed by three sets at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival over the weekend, which included a two-set headlining performance to bring the Tennessee festival to a close on Sunday. Following their triumphant opening week of tour, Phish continues to rollout pro-shot footage with a red-hot “Twist” from their two-set Bonnaroo performance.
Following a rockin’ first set, Phish returned to kick off the second set on Sunday with a short “Mike’s Song” before smoothly transitioning into “Fluffhead”, marking the first time ever that “Fluffhead” has followed “Mike’s”. The crowd erupted with excitement as the band navigated through “Fluff’s” complex and composed structure before they segued their way into “Twist”. Quickly moving through the song’s main theme and into deep Type II territory, Phish took “Twist” on a wild run and invited all of the Bonnaroo faithful along for the ride. Jumping around between a silky-smooth sonic landscape and roaring Trey Anastasio guitar solos, Phish locked into arguably the best jam of their well-received two-set performance.
