On Friday night, October 26thPhish opened the penultimate run of their 2018 fall tour at Rosemont, IL’s Allstate Arena. The stellar show offered a bevy of highlights, from top-notch “Reba” and “Mercury” jams in set one to an improv-heavy set two featuring a thrilling “Tweezer” > “Golden Age” segment.

In addition to the obvious standouts, the compact but powerful “Sand” toward the end of set two was a hair-raising example of dark Phish improv. After working through the song’s funky structure, the band built this “Sand” to a feverish peak behind a barrage of unhinged guitar licks from Trey Anastasio and a rock-solid rhythmic foundation from Jon Fishman and Mike Gordon.

Over the weekend, Phish shared a pro-shot 4K HD video of their “Sand” from Rosemont night one for everyone to relive over and over again. Take 10 minutes and equate your life with this “Sand” today. You’ll be glad that you did.
