Futurebirds returned to The Windjammer in Isle of Palms, SC for a sold-out, rain-soaked celebration on Thursday and Friday.
The Athens, GA-based indie rockers played two shows at the Jammer, marking the third year in a row that the band has visited the beach-side venue. With tickets to both shows completely sold out, the scene on the beach was a party. Even a torrential downpour on Friday couldn’t spoil the fun. The band transformed disappointment to joy with a stellar if damp performance, calling it the “rainiest and funnest one yet” in a post-show recap.

Oddly enough, the situation bore an uncanny resemblance to the lyrics of Futurebirds most recent single, “Sinz & Frenz”, which premiered via Live For Live Music in October. “Well we really needed rain so we planned a big party outside,” the song goes. “When the clouds covered up the sky it was a slip n’ slide.”

Futurebirds recently made their debut at The Ryman after playing Red Rocks for the first time at the end of last year.
