Every year, The Roots host an all-star musical celebration for Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, PA. This year’s event was scheduled to include a headlining performance from The Roots, hosted by Dave Chappelle, with special guests. Unfortunately, rain and lightning took over and closed the set–which would have featured the likes of Brandy, 2 Chainz, Common, M.O.P., and Busta Rhymes–only moments after it began.
Lawd! This what we would have witnessed if the rain hadn’t washed us away! 😩 #RootsPicnic pic.twitter.com/dKnX2v5oOQ
