The Disco Biscuits Celebrate "M1" Release At Joy Theater In New Orleans [Photos/Video]

The Disco Biscuits played two nights at New Orleans’ Joy Theater on Saturday and Sunday, the last two nights of the Jazz Fest season. The shows served as the single release party for the band’s recent track, “M1”.

The two-night run was originally scheduled to take place during Jazz Fest in October, 2021, but like most things planned for the end of 2021, it was canceled due to a spike in the Delta variant of COVID-19. Both events—Jazz Fest and the Disco Biscuits’ late-night shows—were rescheduled for May, 2022, and thankfully, they each took place without further postponement.

The Disco Biscuits recently released “M1”, the third single off the band’s forthcoming album. In April, they announced that, in honor of Jazz Fest, the shows at Joy Theater would serve as the “‘M1’ release party.” The band marked the occasion with an extended rendition of the five-minute track. Including a detour through “Orch Theme”, a song from Disco Biscuits side project Conspirator, the song’s live debut clocked in at over 40 minutes.

The other two singles from the band’s forthcoming album, “Lake Shore Drive” and “Evolve”, appeared in the setlist on night two.

The Disco Biscuits have upcoming tour dates with Umphrey’s McGee and festival appearances at Fool’s Paradise and Sacred Rose.
