The Main Squeeze went back to where it all began last week for its annual homecoming Squeezegiving show at The Vogue in Indianapolis, IN. The funky quintet first came together at Indiana University in nearby Bloomington in 2010.

For this special pre-Thanksgiving show, the now L.A.-based group brought Pulp Friction, an auxiliary backing band with a rotating lineup featuring Will Phillips, Adryon de León, Shira Elias, Parris Fleming, and Nick Gerlach. With this bolstered crew, The Main Squeeze blew through a fully loaded setlist that included selections from the band’s new album, To Be Determined, including the opening “Believe”, “Payday”, “Hold My Hand”, and more.

The band also looked to its diverse influences by covering Rufus & Chaka Khan‘s “Ain’t Nobody” and a powerful rendition of Aerosmith‘s “Dream On”. The Main Squeeze’s dynamic cover game is well established, with the band taking on songs by James Brown, Red Hot Chili PeppersStevie WonderRage Against The MachineDerek and the Dominos, and many more. Wednesday’s concert came to a close with one more To Be Determined track, an extended take on “Make It Right”.
