With Phish finally back on the road and fans across the country eagerly awaiting the tour-closing Labor Day blowout at Commerce City, CO’s DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, Live For Live Music is excited to announce a Mile High after party.
On Saturday, September 4th, following Phish’s second of three DICK’S shows, Live For Live Music will host a special installment of its long-running, rotating lineup Funk Sessions residency, dubbed The Phunk Sessions, at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver [get tickets].
The Phunk Sessions 2021 will feature New Orleans funk royalty Ivan Neville and Ian Neville, as well as their Dumpstaphunk bandmates Tony Hall and Nick Daniels. Enigmatic saxophonist Skerik will also join the ensemble in addition to Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch, TMRW PPL trumpet player Parris Fleming, and powerhouse guitarist/vocalist Judith Hill, in addition to a mystery bag of special guests.
Past editions of The Funk Sessions have featured a who’s who of musicians from The Meters, The Disco Biscuits, The Nth Power, The Motet, Trey Anastasio Band, and many more. The first-ever running of The Phunk Sessions 2019 DICK’s afterparty even saw a Phish’s own Mike Gordon stop by to lend a hand on a cover of “Spanish Moon”.
In accordance with current safety guidelines, the venue will require all attendees to present either proof of full vaccination (either a physical card or a picture of the card with a name matching the attendee’s ID) or the negative results of a COVID test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the event.
