Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will return to Pittsburgh, PA for another New Year’s Eve celebration at Stage AE, the band announced on Monday. Joining the funky Baltimore, MD foursome on December 30th and 31st will be Magic Beans for a repeat of the pair’s 2018 NYE show in Steel City.

An artist pre-sale for tickets to the 2022 Pigeons Playing Ping Pong New Year’s Eve run at Stage AE in Pittsburgh with Magic Beans begins on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. ET.

This announcement comes after Pigeons Playing Ping Pong in 2019 brought their year-ending bash to the ExploreAsheville.com Arena. Following that Electric Kool-Aid Asheville Test, the band returned to the downtown Asheville, NC arena in 2021 for an Arena 54 interstellar disco celebration with Keller Williams, Here Come The Mummies, and Funk You following a COVID-induced year away. Both of those NYE celebrations were prefaced the night prior with a show at the nearby Orange Peel in Asheville.

This coming New Year’s Eve will mark Pigeons’ return to Stage AE after the penultimate night of the band’s 2021 Daft Side of the Moon Halloween run on October 30th. Prior to that, “Scrambled” Greg Ormont (vocals, guitar), Jeremy Schon (guitar), Ben Carrey (bass), and Alex “Gator” Petropulos (drums) made their headlining debut at the venue in 2018 with a New Year’s StEve concert after first playing Stage AE exactly two years earlier opening for Lotus.
