Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will host another edition of the band’s semi-annual fall Flocktoberfest, this time at the State Theatre in Portland, ME. The two-day celebration will see support from lespecial and West End Blend.
The band’s self-described “funky fall fiesta” kicks off on October 8th with lespecial opening the show followed on the 9th with West End Blend. PPPP’s Flocktoberfests have traditionally seen a bevy of cross-pollination with various peers sitting in with the Baltimore bird band, and this year’s celebration will likely be no exception as Pigeons has an extensive history of sit-ins from the West End Blend horns. lespecial also goes way back with Pigeons as the Connecticut natives played at the first-ever Flocktoberfest back in 2016 in Roanoke, VA.
This will mark the fourth-ever Flocktoberfest following the 2019 Philadelphia shows with Aqueous and Magic Beans. The band decided to take a year off the festival in 2018 after delivering the first two annual installments in 2017 and 2016.
Pre-sale tickets to the Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Flocktoberfest celebration with lespecial and West End Blend go up on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET via the band’s website, accessible using the password “FLOCK”. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. ET, with single night and two-night passes available.
