Earlier this month on February 8th, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and their winged rock ‘n roll brethren Goose flew into Los Angeles, CA for a two-night run at the Troubador as the latest stop on their ongoing west coast winter tour together. Halfway through the first set of Pigeons’ headlining performance, the band welcomed Sex On Toast guitarist Angus Leslie to sit in for their cover of the Australia-based band’s 2015 single, “Oh, Loretta!”.

On Wednesday, Pigeons shared the video highlighting Leslie’s February 8th sit-in, which also happened to be the first time an international artist has joined the funk-rock quartet on stage.

“You know, we’ve been traveling a long time as a band, more than 10 years now,” Pigeons singer Greg Ormont said over the microphone before welcoming Leslie to the stage for the cover. “We’ve made a lot of great friends along the way … We actually have a bunch of musician pen-pals across the world that we talk to all the time.”

Ormont continued for another few moments before Leslie walked out from behind stage right with guitar in hand and added in some of his own pre-song commentary before everyone started into the soulful, groovy cover.
