Meanwhile, alt-J has broken its studio silence with “U&ME”, the British art-school, indie-rock outfit’s first new music since 2017’s Relaxer. In opposition to its last, chilled-out studio product, “U&ME” sees a return to the indie-psych, guitar-driven sounds that brought alt-J to prominence with 2012’s An Awesome Wave. The single will appear on the band’s forthcoming new album, The Dream, out on February 11th.
