Post Malone appeared as musical guest alongside host Selena Gomez on this past week’s episode of Saturday Night Live. The pop-rap star performed two songs off his forthcoming Twelve Carat Toothache album with help from an interesting pairing of special guests: rapper Roddy Ricch and members of indie-folk outfit Fleet Foxes.

Post Malone first performed his latest single, “Cooped Up”, which features a verse from Roddy Ricch. Ricch joined Posty for his first-ever SNL performance, rapping about how the young hip-hop star gave him his big break by bringing him on tour to open arena shows.

After some skits featuring former Disney actress/singer and Only Murderers In The Building star Selena Gomez, Post Malone returned to the stage and debuted a new song, “Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol”, with help from Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold. Malone has expressed appreciation for Fleet Foxes in the past, calling Pecknold “a great writer,” and the two have become fast friends. They even raged the SNL afterparty together, remaining at L’Avenue at Saks until being asked to leave at 5:30 a.m., according to Page Six.

Post Malone and Robin Pecknold wrote “Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol” along with producer Louis Bell. Robin Pecknold said in an Instagram story that he penned the song for Post Malone “as private thanks for him being so nice about [Fleet Foxes] in the world.”

For Saturday night’s performance, Pecknold sang behind Post Malone within a choir that also included Fleet Foxes member Christan Wargo. The singers were flanked by two percussionists playing taiko drums.

Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache is due out June 3rd. Singles “One Right Now” featuring The Weeknd and “Cooped Up” are out now.
