Primavera Sound has announced the mirror image artist lineups for its 2023 festivals in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain. In addition to globally recognized headliners and performers, both festivals will feature gender-balanced lineups of more than 200 performers over the course of the two weeks.
The Barcelona event is due to take place from June 1st through 3rd at Parc del Fòrum, with additional events taking place at the main venue on May 31st and June 4th. The Madrid edition will take place the following week, with the main festival taking place from June 8th through 10th at Ciudad del Rock in Arganda del Rey and additional events set for June 7th and June 11th at Cívitas Metropolitano. Both festivals will also include a series of club shows around each city billed as Primavera a la Ciutat.

Pet Shop Boys will lead the way for each festival’s free Wednesday events alongside Jake Bugg, Confidence Man, and La Paloma. When the Primavera Sound festivities get going in earnest, fans in Barcelona and Madrid will enjoy Thursday performances by Blur, Halsey, Darkside, Le Tigre, NxWorries (featuring Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge), Pusha T, Built To Spill, Sudan Archives, The Comet Is Coming, and more.
The Friday lineups for Primavera Sound Barcelona and Madrid will feature headlining sets by Kendrick Lamar and Depeche Mode in addition to Baby Keem, Four Tet, Fred Again.., Skrillex, The Moldy Peaches, Bad Religion, Bleachers, Channel Tres, Japanese Breakfast, Yves Tumor, and more. Saturday will bring fans in Barcelona and Madrid performances by Rosalía, Calvin Harris, FKA Twigs, Måneskin, St. Vincent, Maggie Rogers, My Morning Jacket, Arlo Parks, Death Grips, DOMi & JD Beck, JPEGMAFIA, John Cale, Yung Lean, and more. Each Primavera Sound week will wrap up on Sunday with an Electronic Brunch-In featuring Ben Böhmer, CamelPhat, Diplo, and others.
While the 2023 lineups for Primavera Sound Barcelona and Primavera Sound Madrid are largely identical, each week’s programming features a handful of differences. Fans in Barcelona will be treated to appearances by Ghost and Arthur Verocai on Thursday, Sparks and Israel Fernández y Diego Del Morao on Friday, and The War On Drugs and Holly Humberstone on Saturday. The Barcelona Sunday Electronic Brunch-In will also feature Purple Disco Machine. Attendees of the Madrid event will get Sparks on Thursday, The Mars Volta and Georgia on Friday, and Bad Gyal on Saturday, with Vitalic along for the ride on Sunday.
On top of the performances at the main festival sites, each week will include an extensive program of club and theater shows around the two cities as part of the event’s Primavera a la Ciutat series. Performances as part of the series include Pet Shop Boys (who will also perform at the two main festival sites), Loyle Carner, black midi, The Comet is Coming, Black Country, New Road, The Chills, Cloud Nothings, Gilla Band, PUP, and Blondshell, among others. The Barcelona series will also feature Arab Strap, Confidence Man, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Jockstrap, Enumclaw, and more, while the Madrid series will also feature concerts by The War On Drugs, St. Vincent, Tokischa, Julia Jacklin, Joy Anonymous, and more. Barcelona’s Primavera a la Ciutat will take place in venues like Sala Apolo, Razzmatazz, and Paral·lel 62 while the Madrid events will take place at Sala La Riviera, El Sol, Independance, Shôko, La Paqui, and Clamores.
All tickets for Primavera Sound Barcelona 2023 and Primavera Sound Madrid 2023 will go on sale on Thursday, December 1st at 12:00 p.m. CET via DICE. Fans registered in the Barcelonès region or in the Community of Madrid can receive a discounted rate. The full festival tickets for Primavera Sound Barcelona 2023 and Primavera Sound Madrid 2023 give access to the main days which will take place in the Parc del Fòrum and the Ciudad del Rock respectively. They also give the possibility, subject to capacity, of access to the Primavera a la Ciutat concerts and the Brunch-In party. The free Wednesday welcome days will be open to the general public until full capacity is reached, no ticket necessary. Pre-booking details will be announced soon.
