Prince began his spontaneous “Hit & Run” tour in the US last weekend, playing four shows over two nights at Louisville’s Palace Theatre. As The Courier-Journal describes it, Prince started the first night by saying “Kentucky, let me tell you how this is gonna go. Have you ever heard nine hits in a row? That’s the way it’s gonna go.”

The nine hits in a row… “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Take Me With U,” “U Got the Look,” “Funknroll,” “Controversy,” “1999,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Kiss.” After finishing off the first set on Saturday night (3/14), Prince took a breather before doing it all again at 11 PM.

Throughout the shows, Prince called out Louisville native and 3RDEYEGIRL drummer Hannah Welton, even going so far as to pull out a copy of Drum! magazine with Welton’s photo on the cover. No further dates on the “Hit & Run” tour have been announced.
