George Porter Jr., Ivan & Cyril Neville, Jon Cleary, JoJo Hermann, & More Announce Professor Longhair Tribute

This December would have marked the 100th birthday of Professor Longhair, aka “Fess”, who was born and raised in Louisiana. Eventually calling New Orleans home, the Crescent City will continue celebrating his legacy with a very special musical tribute scheduled for Wednesday, December 19th at Tipitina’s. The legendary venue is, indeed, a nod to Professor Longhair’s 1953 song, “Tipitina”.

With bassist George Porter Jr. (The Meters) serving as the musical director, over 20 New Orleans-based musicians will come together in musical celebration. Ivan Neville, Cyril Neville, Jon Cleary, John “JoJo” Hermann, Johnny Vidacovich, Kermit Ruffins, John “Papa” Gros, June Yamagishi, and more all round out the impressive lineup.
