A number of accomplished guitarists including John Mayer (Dead & Company), Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic), Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy), and more will take part in the PRS Guitars 2021 Virtual Launch Party scheduled for later this week.
The one-night event will stream on the PRS Guitars’ YouTube page on Thursday (January 14th) starting at 7 p.m. ET, where the guitar and pro audio manufacturer will showcase its stable of sponsored players along with its latest line of music products for 2021 without the promotional platform of the annual NAMM industry convention in Southern California this year. The virtual event, which is free to watch, will see PRS Guitars founder Paul Reed Smith and the various guest musicians offer up product announcements, acoustic showcases and performances, and new gear demos.
Other notable artists who will take part in the stream include David Grissom (John Mellencamp), Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge), Zach Myers (Shinedown), Sophie Burrell, Tomo Fujita (Berklee College of Music), Ben Eller, Herman Li, Dave Weiner (Steve Vai), Larry Fleet, Justin Johnson, Magnolia Boulevard, and more.
“We want to invite our community – our artists, players, fans, and dealers and distributors – to come together with us as we celebrate the start of a new year that we believe is full of excitement for PRS players,” Smith added in a statement for the virtual event. “Guitar playing has always been a source of joy, and we are thankful to have been part of that in 2020. Let’s kick off 2021 together and have some fun on the 14th.”
