Paul McCartney has shared the Ed O’Brien remix of “Slidin'” which will appear on the veteran rocker’s forthcoming McCartney III Imagined album, due out next week on April 16th.

McCartney had already shared a pair of remixed tracks from his McCartney III 2020 studio album, including “Find My Way” from Beck and “The Kiss Of Venus” courtesy of Dominic Fike. This time around, Radiohead‘s Ed O’Brien has added a much faster tempo while removing most of the low-end growl heard from McCartney’s guitars in the original version of the song.

“I was in the studio with Paul Epworth when the track came through,” O’Brien said in a statement about his new remix. “The brief was to do whatever we wanted with the song .. so we got to work…. helter skelter felt like a good reference point .. ramp up the intensity and add a dose of chaos…. Thank you to Paul Epworth and his engineer Riley McIntyre.. and of course thank you to the great man himself Paul McCartney… hope you like it.”
