Despite the dozens of artists that performed at last night’s “Dear Jerry” tribute show, anyone paying attention will notice that bluegrass bands Greensky Bluegrass and Railroad Earth were notoriously absent from the festivities. Due to time constraints and falling behind the production schedule, both bands were unfortunately cut from the performance.

It’s certainly nice to see both bands be understanding and take this in stride. We’re hoping that the bands debut some new Jerry Band/Grateful Dead covers at their upcoming shows at DelFest. Pianist Bruce Hornsby was also scheduled to perform but was removed from the lineup because he was sick.

Railroad Earth had planned on performing “Terrapin Station,” while Greensky Bluegrass was slated for “Eyes of the World.”
