On Friday, November 23rd, Railroad Earth kicked off their annual two-night “Horn o’ Plenty” Thanksgiving run at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA. After an opening performance from fast-rising quintet Ghost Light, Railroad Earth took the stage. Andy Falco (The Infamous Stringdusters) and Tony Trischka sat in throughout the performance, filling the emotional void left by the recent death of founding member Andy Goessling. The show marked Railroad Earth’s first hometown show since Goessling’s passing, making for an emotional night for the longtime fans in attendance.

Ghost Light members Tom Hamilton and Holly Bowling also joined in on the action with Railroad Earth, contributing keys and electric guitar to the second half of the headliners’ second set, including a crowd-pleasing cover of the Grateful Dead‘s “The Wheel”. The show’s encore also featured a prominent tease of “I Shall Be Released”, perhaps a subtle nod to their departed friend.
