Bluegrass rockers, Railroad Earth in conjunction with Full Moon Resort’s “Music Masters Camp” have just announced the first ever Camp Railroad is coming to the heart of the New York’s Catskill Mountins June 10-14 2013.
Camp Railroad promises to be similar to other interactive multi-day, festival-like sleepover camps that have taken place at the Full Moon Resort before it (Umphrey’s Mcgee held their inagural sUmmer School here in June). The resort spans 80,000 acres and features amazing indoor accommodations as well as outdoor campsites, three meals per day, swimming pools, a billiard hall, full-service bars and much more.
According to Full Moon Resort’s “Music Masters Camp” website:
“The host artist creates the format, agenda and curriculum. Some camps have an ‘academic’ feel, incorporating elements of music theory, master classes and instrumental ensembles. Others are more casual with a social and festival oriented atmosphere. All Music Masters Camps provide an extremely high quality musical experience, enhanced by the presence of talented ‘counselors’, including band members, associated musicians, special guests and industry professionals.”
So needless to say, Camp Railroad is going to be a truly unique experience that die-hard fans will not want to miss. With intimate workshops, performances, jam sessions, panel discussions and more; this event’s main goal is to shed some light onto the inner workings of Railroad Earth and for band members, crew and fans to connect on a deep level.
All-Inclusive packages for Camp Railroad start at $795 for tent camping and $1,095 for an indoor Bed and Breakfast style cabin with a shared bathroom (private bathrooms are available as well). On-site accommodations do not have TVs, air conditioning or housekeeping services so those who prefer a more luxurious retreat may be inclined to choose a package at the nearby Alpine Inn.

By the way, did we mention there’s no cell phone service?
